OSHA Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor Announced as AIHce EXP 2022 Conference Closing Speaker

James Frederick will speak about OSHA’s initiatives at the May conference.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association announced the closing speaker for its conference in May.

According to a press release, James Frederick, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA, will be the closing speaker. Frederick will speak about regulations and initiatives at OSHA and “how the occupational safety and health community can better prepare for the challenges and opportunities presented by the changing workforce.”

Frederick has 30 years of experience in the health and safety industry, including 25 years with the United Steelworkers Health, Safety and Environment Department, where he served as Deputy Director and Principal Researcher .

According to the release, he has served on numerous boards, including the ANSI Z10 Standards Committee, the NIOSH National Occupational Research Agenda’s Traumatic Injury Prevention Council, and the OSHA Metalworking Fluids Standard Advisory Committee.

“We are proud to welcome Deputy Assistant Secretary Frederick to the AIHce EXP,” AIHA CEO Lawrence D. Sloan said in the press release. “The Assistant Secretary’s commitment to championing occupational health and safety makes him an exceptional speaker, and AIHce EXP attendees look forward to his closing general session.”

The American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce EXP) May 23-25 ​​in Nashville, Tennessee. A virtual component will also take place for those unable to attend in person.
