Meetings with US Undersecretary Donald Lu take place at Kazakh MFA
NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM – As part of a tour of Central Asia, US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu paid a working visit to Kazakhstan on the eve of the referendum on amending the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform quotes the press service of the Kazakh MFA.
The American diplomat was received by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi, during the conversation with which the parties exchanged views on the prospects for development and strengthening of the enhanced strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States.
During the meeting with the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Akan Rakhmetullin, a wide range of bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues, as well as the global and regional agenda were discussed. The parties expressed satisfaction with the pace of development of Kazakh-American cooperation.
Highlighting the gradual development of civil society and the positive dynamics of Kazakhstan’s socio-economic development, Lu stressed the US administration’s support for political reforms initiated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
