The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) has appointed Abhishek Kumar as Deputy Secretary General. Prior to joining FHRAI, Kumar was Deputy Managing Director of the Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA).

A communications professional with 15 years of experience, he will help lead the brand building initiatives of the FHRAI and create avenues to improve the visibility of the association through the media. With experience in liaising with government agencies, industry stakeholders and chambers of industry, Kumar will add value to the association’s existing liaison mechanism.

“Having previously worked for an Association, the experience will facilitate my smooth transition. The Secretariat has made remarkable progress in the policy and advocacy landscape for the hospitality industry and I plan to do the same. It would be my effort to maintain regular dialogues with industry stakeholders, including key government officials, and to make new connections through other important avenues. It is very important for any industry body to have a very accurate story for the industry and I plan to contribute more to FHRAI. I am committed to working closely with the Secretary General and members of the Bureau to work towards creating an enabling and cohesive environment for the hospitality industry, ”said Abhishek Kumar, Deputy Secretary General, FHRAI.
