Deputy Director position (Hampton & Whitton) with London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and London Borough of Wandsworth

Next, we need you to join the team and help run the Hampton and Whitton sports and fitness centers.

Where you will work

This role will involve tasks in 2 of our borough’s sports and fitness centers in Whitton TW2 6JW and Hampton TW12 3HB.

Facilities at the Whitton Sports & Fitness Center include a lighted multi-purpose play area, a lighted 3G astro turf pitch, a gym, a studio and a fitness room.

Facilities at the Hampton Sports & Fitness Center include a 3G lit court, gym, gym, 5-a-side court, multi-purpose play area, theater and studios.

Both centers are open to the public on weekdays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You will work 36 hours per week on a rotational basis and this will include a mix of day, evening and weekend shifts in both centers.

What you gonna do

You will participate in the management of 2 dual-use sports and fitness centers in the borough, ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly.

With the direct supervision of all casual staff and instructors, you will develop your staff through 1-2-1s, assessments and team meetings.

You will have overall responsibility for managing bulk bookings at both sites.

Your workload will also support financial forecasting and budget tracking, programming and evaluation, health and safety, marketing and promotion.

You will also need to step in and cover as a service manager if necessary.

Good communication and organizational skills are essential for this position.

  • Sport / fitness / leisure or management diploma
  • Significant previous experience working in a leisure environment.
