The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) of the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in the discipline of Construction Management.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The emphasis of our programs is directed to the areas of structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, construction management, environmental engineering, and water resources. The objective of our undergraduate program is to educate and train students to become civil engineers with a formation of good scientific knowledge, good engineering practices and leadership skills; and to prepare them for their higher education at the international level. Currently, it has 22 full-time academic staff, about 220 undergraduate students and 140 graduate students. UM is in the top 1% of the ESI (Essential Sciences Indicators) rankings in engineering. In the world university rankings, the engineering and technology program is ranked among 101 to 125th.


Applicants should hold a PhD in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management or related fields. Preference will be given to applicants with research and teaching experience at the tertiary level. To accommodate future development, candidates specializing in construction/project management, surveying, information technology in construction, building information modelling, management/construction of smart and sustainable buildings , environmental impact assessment and strategic management are preferred.

The selected candidate must assume his/her duties in December 2022.


A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP 828,100 (approximately USD 102,230) will be commensurate with the academic qualification and relevant professional experience of the successful candidates. The current maximum local income tax rate is 12%, but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions. In addition to competitive compensation, UM offers a wide range of benefits, such as medical insurance, provident fund, on-campus housing/housing allowance, and other subsidies.
