job description

This position is for the Institute of Service Excellence (ISE).

The role will support ISE in its mission with a focus on research and thought leadership by developing high quality Singapore-based and Asia-based research on service excellence and consultancy research projects. The role would be involved in the following:

CSISG Research Studies

  • Manage data processing and analysis of research data to ensure accuracy and depth of results.
  • Perform statistical analyses, environmental scans, trend analyzes to develop insights to aid in the formulation of decisions and policies.
  • Analyze service industry trends for emerging issues and articulate trend analysis with customer satisfaction research.
  • Generate timely and accurate membership reports for clients.
  • Cross-check other analysts’ research to ensure accuracy.

Research and consultancy projects

  • Monitor and analyze the results of consulting projects as well as guide and advise team members.
  • Engaging clients for consultancy research projects, including understanding client research needs as well as developing and crafting proposals.
  • Plan and develop research methodology, questionnaires, data processing/cleaning, analysis, reports.
  • Present key information to customers.

Thought Leadership

  • Assist researchers in writing thought leadership articles and service-related academic journal articles. This includes academic literature review, desk research, data mining from external and institutional data sources, and analysis.


  • Degree in business, economics, statistics or other related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a research or advisory role for the role of Manager.
  • Recent graduates are welcome to apply – the job title and compensation will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Meticulous with strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Experience using statistical packages and database languages ​​such as SPSS, R and SQL preferred.
  • Good understanding of research methodologies and ability to perform data analysis
  • Able to work with large data sets
  • Familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Experienced in the use of statistical packages like SPSS or R
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet tight deadlines.
