Assist the Head of Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) in fulfilling SUSS QA roles and functions, from a data analysis perspective, including:

  • Continuously assess operational data needs and help establish quality standards that minimize institutional risks while meeting stakeholder expectations, and report periodically in these areas
  • Assist in the assessment of strategic data, with a view to facilitating SUSS action plans in response to MOE QAFU review recommendations
  • Evaluate areas where data analytics can be deployed to automate data collection, as well as to make decisions about areas and frequency of inspections and reviews; Explore and drive new quality-related analytics initiatives
  • Plan and complete regular quality analysis projects
  • Guide the unit in integrating analytical tools into ongoing work
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analytical staff in the department
  • Drive initiatives (e.g. trainings, workshops) towards a data analytics culture within the unit

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics or related field with substantial analytics coverage
  • At least 2 years of practical experience in an analytical role (descriptive / diagnostic / predictive)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
  • Fluency or experience with natural language processing – including text and sentiment mining
  • Proficiency in statistical and data analysis
  • Practical experience in at least one of the following tools:
  • Data visualization tools such as Power BI / Tableau
  • Open source data mining tools such as Python and R
  • Enterprise-grade exploration tools such as SAS, SPSS, and JMP
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role in an analytics project.
  • Knowledge and relevant working experience of programming languages ​​(such as .Net, Java, Python, etc.) as well as SQL-based RDBMS (e.g. MySQL, Oracle), in particular knowledge and experience of the SQL language will be a additional benefit.
